A Linear Regulator is a component that regulates voltage. They are normally used in devises with batteries. Battery voltage will vary as it is discharging. The regulator makes the voltage more consistent to minimize any damage on other components. We are using a standard version 3.3 V regulator on our micro bots. There is a maximum of 6.0 V and a minimal of 0.8 V on this version. This is the schematic of the regulator. This is an image of the regulator. |
